*s+arts will be open from June 3.

Saki Makita’s dreamlike Nihonga paintings, seemingly freed from gravity, express the “sediments of the soul” generated by life in the real world. Makita believes we all have uncertainty, sadness, and pain that accumulate deep within our spirits. Her works subliminate these negative emotions, mixing them with a longing for a world of dreams. This is her first exhibition in three years.
