Sho—the art of calligraphy. Since its 2012 Grand Reopening, the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum of has featured its calligraphy collection in such exhibitions as “Contemporary calligraphy on colored paper” and “Kanji You Can Feel.” Modern calligraphy has evolved as an “exhibition art” as opportunities for exhibiting in museums have grown. This exhibition will feature calligraphic works from the museum’s collection and survey the history of modern “sho.”
