Faro Kagurozawa presents Colliu, a creator of paintings, sculptures, installations, and other works. Colliu, who stresses the relationship between the work and the viewer, has created displays for Coach, Rimowa Store, Laforet Harajuku, NEWomen, and other venues in recent years. Colliu also recently unveiled a large-scale public artwork for Miyashita Park in Shibuya. The works of artists such as Picasso and Matisse are often used as motifs in Colliu’s work. This time Colliu takes inspiration from the folk paintings of the Lee Dynasty and the decorative and utilitarian art of the early Edo period in rugs, mats, and other textiles, as well as flower vases, chairs, and items for daily use.
