Yutaka Aoki continues to explore the possibilities of painting through his meticulous study of light. In his craftsmanship, a careful attentiveness is given to the synergy between the 2D and 3D nature of each piece, the properties of each individual material, the production process, and the movement of the human eye.
This current exhibition appears as a recollection of the adversities and growth the artist has encountered since his last solo exhibition. The works exhibited in this show demonstrate the rich expression of Aoki’s ever-evolving paintings.
