This is the third exhibition in which 15 artists sell their works from 10,000 yen and the price of the next work goes up each time they are purchased.
The price goes up by ¥10,000 until reaching ¥40,000 and up by ¥20,000 after reaching ¥40,000, until reaching the upper limit of ¥200,000. If an artist goes unbought for two consecutive exhibitions, another artist’s work is made available for purchase instead.
Teppei Sako and Aoi Tagami are joining the exhibition as replacement artists. Sako works in photography, video, and silkscreen and won the 38th New Cosmos of Photography Grand Prize in 2015. He continues to work as part of the artist unit The Copy Travelers. Tagami’s work centers around music or as she puts it “the act of singing” and performance art that crosses genres.
