DESIGNER PROFILE

Tomoko Konoike captured attention with her “Story Series” unveiled at the MOT Annual 2005 exhibition and Mori Art Museum’s “Storytellers” exhibition that same year. She is an artist who looks at the systems that form “stories” from a meta level through various media such as painting, sculpture, anime, and illustration. She has curated exhibitions “Deep Forest Beyond Five Senses” and “A Lunch,” published picture book “Mimio” and illustrated Tatsuhiko Shibusawa’s “Kobiki.” In 2006 she held solo exhibitions “The Scarecrow” by the Averof foundation (Greece), “Videoformes” (Clermont-Ferrand, France), “Rapt!” (Melbourne), at Mizuma Art Gallery and Ohara Museum of Art. A new project of hers is scheduled to be held at Mori Art Museum for a year starting in 2007.
