Every year, Tokyo Big Sight is filled with hundreds of young artists hoping to catch the attention of gallery owners and collectors: a forum of creativity in which there really is something for everybody.

Jun-Pierre Shiozawa

Jun-Pierre Shiozawa. Born in the United States in 1980. Attended the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, where he received a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in painting. Jun-Pierre also studied oil painting and tradional European art history in Italy and Greece. He has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions around the world including Minneapolis, Paris, Greece and Tokyo. He is a founder and co-editor of the comic book Snapperhead Comics, as well as an illustrator. He has been living in Tokyo since spring 2006. Personal Page » See other writings

    Nice drawings! This is exactly how I remember my first Design Festa a few years ago.

    I heard this corny saying about Mt. Fuji, “Everyone should climb it once, but only a fool would climb it twice.”

    I think you can say the same about attending Design Festa, though I can understand why people with specific interests or at a certain time in their studies/career would enjoy going every year.

    i really like JP’s style! It’s simple, fun..
    Never been to Design Festa but i wish I could go next year.. I heard that there was an artist there who spend his time scrathing a piece of 5m paper with pencils.. crazy man!!
