Cameron McKean

Cameron McKean. Born in 1982 to protestant parents in a catholic hospital in South Australia. Recently finished studies in Psychology and Sociology at the University of Auckland in New Zealand, where he researched truth-telling and lies, local graffiti rituals, community art projects, and post-apocalyptic cults. For a surprise and a bout of malaria, he took a break mid-degree to work in Kenya in 2004. From 2000 to 2006 he has also worked as a freelance illustrator, designer and photographer, producing mostly printed work for clients who ranged on a scale from good to evil. Has been living in Tokyo since early 2007, because it seemed like another good place for a surprise. This sometimes seems like a poor reason to leave behind the pristine beaches, clean air, and happily listless people of New Zealand, but not a poor enough reason to go back. » See other writings
