This coffee sign hangs in the hallway like a permanent exhibit of sorts, colouring the hallway with its orange glow.

The exhibition brings together the work of four photographers from all over the world - Milan, New York, Brussels and Paris.

Alin Huma (centre) talking to one of the guests about the ideas behind the show.

The atmosphere was very casual for an opening. Look left and you see guests sitting around looking at limited edition photography zines...... look right and sometimes there were so many people you couldn't see the art anymore.

Works by Arnaud Meuleman.

A work by Naoki Matsuyama on the column at the centre left.

An added bonus about this apartment gallery is the unusual view it affords over the lower edge of Ginza.

Ashley Rawlings. Born in 1981 in London. After a year of studying painting and mixed media at Chelsea College of Art & Design, he took on Japanese Studies at Cambridge. He moved to Tokyo in 2005, where he studies the history of Japanese post-war art at Sophia University and works as a freelance writer, translator and editor. As well as writing and editing for TABlog, he writes for the Japan Times and the ART iT website. He is also the editor of Art Space Tokyo, an intimate guide to the Tokyo art world. When not in galleries and museums or taking photographs, he enjoys losing himself in among Tokyo's skyscrapers, wandering silent streets, and riding out the occasional earthquakes.
