Video Tape for Fun

TAB Video talked to artist Shantell Martin just before she left Japan and recorded one of her projects.

Shantell Martin has been drawing all over Tokyo since 2004, projecting her drawings-in-action as a VJ, where she draws, un-draws and re-draws along with music.

She covers objects, flyers, walls, t-shirts and people as an illustrator, and galvanizes a community of professional and amateur collaborators around her uncomplicated and positive style.

In 2009, Martin relocated to New York. This event, the third in her “Tape for Fun” series, was one of the last public projects she held in Tokyo.
