Gallery changes

The sadly little-known Clear Gallery has gone through a slight change. It is now called Clear Edition and Gallery. Some TAB users might know the venue, situated halfway between Shibuya and Roppongi, as where Yuri Suzuku’s “The Physical Value of Sound” was held this year. Its next “show” will be a special work-in-progress exhibition by Tokyo-resident French artist Frank Le Petit, an experimental photographer.

Public art

Until October 31 travellers passing through Tokyo station Marunouchi and Yaesu exits will be able to enjoy murals celebrating the four hundred years of Dutch-Japanese relations in four scenes representing “history”, “tourism”, “transport”, and”design”. The one hundred and twenty metre-long public art work is being sponsored by the Dutch Embassy.

Further, Haneda Airport is to be transformed from October 9. Terminals 1 and 2 will be filled with the creations of DPA (Digital Public Art), including floating giants, LED stars and videos of birds. For more, see the DPA website (Japanese only). If you’re passing through, please let us know your impressions!

It’s not over till the fat lady sings…

That’s what they say about opera and this week brought the sad news for blog afficianados that Click Opera is going to end…in February 2010!
