Jong Pairez

Jong Pairez

After hitchhiking the northern part of the Philippines and reaching the island of Batanes he slept on the shore to take a rest. The next morning he woke up, to his surprise, to find himself in Tokyo working in the port as a foreign migrant. He now categorically considers himself a foreign migrant worker in the lost decade generation. In between work he tries to live meaningfully by stealing time. If he is not working he is out there watching independent films, visiting underrated contemporary art spaces, wolfing down books in public libraries, and making friends with other Others.
