The August-September issue of the art map is out. It introduces 50 popular events in Tokyo, with a preview of the Yokohama Triennale starting in September.

Have you seen the 2nd issue of the Tokyo Art Map for June-July? Since early June, we’ve given away 80,000 of them at 200+ locations in Tokyo, up from 120 for the 1st issue.

Rough Guides publish 300 travel titles, maps and phrasebooks and over 60 reference books on topics ranging form Climate Change to Classical Music. And Yes, Tokyo is no exception to their wide range of topics!

After nearly four years of beta-testing in Tokyo, today, we gave birth to a new Art and Design guide to freedom, just for New York. With 850 venues worth of events and exhibitions, this is a very healthy baby. Welcome to NYArtBeat!

This fall, Time Out released the 2007 update of the Tokyo version of their famous city guide series. TAB contributed a small column and was given 5 guides to give away. The winners get a guide and are offered lunch with the TAB team. So, who are the winners!?

This fall, Time Out released the 2007 update of the Tokyo version of their famous city guide series. These are great guides with a more cultural angle than others and the only ones to actually cover the subject of galleries and museums over more than a single page.

Tokyo Art Beat will form part of the jury of the international “eco”-design competition ‘Love Your Earth’ organized by designboom and Design Association Japan.

Tokyo Art Beat is searching for a part-time editor to join the TAB team.

The new job section: TAB Jobs launched a week ago and we currently have 5 companies advertising for open positions on the English side of TAB (and 12 on the Japanese side of TAB).

Gadago, the Non-Profit Organisation behind Tokyo Art Beat, relies on donations, t-shirt sales and advertising to pay its bilingual staff of 3 and support the work of more than 15 volunteers (writers, designers, coders).
