Shop or Department Store in The Nihonbashi, Kudanshita area

In 1983, Daimaru opened its first museum in its store in Umeda and since then have opened museum spaces in all of its 5 stores. After a boom in the 80s and 90s, department store museums that enabled shopping and art to be enjoyed at the same time, have gradually decreased in number with only a few left. Despite this, Daimaru endeavors to continue its cultural activity to present not only established artists' exhibitions but also contemporary works to bring art into and to enrich everyday life.
