The Kawamura Memorial DIC Museum of Art opened in 1990 at Central Research Laboratories of DIC Corporation, in the suburbs of Sakura City, Chiba, to exhibit works of art collected by the company and its affiliated firms. The museum displays approximately 50 - 80 items selected from the group's holdings in its permanent collection and also features special exhibitions several times each year.
The collection varies from 17th century Rembrandt to contemporary art, and the building (designed by Ichiro Ebihara) aims to provide the most fitting space for the artworks being displayed. The natural environment surrounding the building completes the setting, offering the distinct and delightful changes of the four seasons. At Kawamura Memorial DIC Museum of Art, visitors are pleased to find the premises comprised of these three harmonious elements.
