No.12 Gallery
Gallery in The Shibuya area
A small gallery nestled in the grove of Komaba between Shibuya and Shimokitazawa. This three-story building houses a dark room for photographers on the top floor, an independent record label on the second floor, and the gallery with a glass façade. The gallery wishes to support artists who are not confined to traditional art and to provide them with a base for interaction and growth. Isn't it nice to have such a space, all alone in the residential area? Well, you will find out why the gallery is called No.12 when you visit us.
No.12 gallery operates in two ways: program exhibitions and rental space. The program exhibitions take place a few times a year, and the artists are selected exclusively by the gallery. In between these exhibitions, the gallery space is lent to individual artists and students wishing to present their works to the public. In an effort to encourage many talented artists, our rental fee is lower than the inner-city rate. -- Director Taro Hirano
