Archi-Depot

Museum in The Tokyo: Others area

poster for Archi-Depot

Boasting a space of 450m2, with ceilings of 5.2m heigh, Archi-Depot provides an unrivalled platform for the presentation and preservation of architectural models, the only museum in Japan to be dedicated to such a cause. Architectural models may be considered as profound materials that transmit designers’ thoughts, as well as being high quality sculptural works. The significance of archiving is growing in the architectural industry as well as the art world, on a global scale. Materials of modern architecture are already gaining attention, and it is no exaggeration to say that the cultural value of architectural models created by contemporary architects and architects’ offices will also rise. It is the purpose of Archi-Depot to bring new discovery to this value.
