Printing Museum
Museum in The Nihonbashi, Kudanshita area
Printing has played a tremendous role in the development of civilization and humankind. The Printing Musem is a knowledge resource established to inform visitors of the functions of printing in our history and present. The museum also proposes new applications for printing as a communication media in the future.
Until now, printing research has focused largely on the technical elements of the craft. The museum presents the technical aspects of printing in great details, but takes more than just a nuts-and-bolts approach. Visitors will become conversant with a very young field of inquiry: the study of printing culture.
