Ueno Royal Museum

Ueno Royal Museum, formerly the Japan Art Association Museum, opened in April 1972. Today headed by Prince Hitachinomiya, the Japan Art Association was founded in 1879 as the first japanese Art Association. Since its inauguration, the museum has held countless international and planned exhibitions. It is also home to the prestigious "Ueno Royal Museum Competition" and other public exhibitions.
