Mizumaru Anzai
Mizumaru Anzai (1942-2014) was a renowned illustrator whose work spanned novels, manga, picture books, essays, and advertisements from the 1970s onward. The manga "Aoi no Jidai," inspired by days in southern Boso, garnered significant acclaim. Anzai also independently created book covers for authors such as Haruki Murakami, illustrated picture books, and held exhibitions with Makoto Wada. The distinctive style of Anzai captures the essence of everyday life with a blend of humor and melancholy. This exhibition features approximately 500 original artworks and materials, showcasing Anzai's journey from childhood to later years.
