The Meguro Art Museum opened in November 1987 in a corner of the lush greenery of Meguro Kumin Center. In the midst of Tokyo's abundance of exhibitions and information, the museum functions as a familiar art museum in the community, a place to relax and enjoy art, and a place for urbanites to rediscover themselves through the medium of art. Although this museum is only a modest space inserted into the metropolis, we believe that it is also a window to an infinite universe of imagination and sensitivity. 

Meguro Museum of Art collects modern and contemporary works of art by Japanese artists and presents them to the public through exhibitions of the museum's collection, as well as actively organizing special exhibitions that capture the diverse trends of art in Japan and abroad. Workshops that focus on beauty in daily life and the origins, materials, and techniques of artworks are also a major feature of the museum as a new attempt to combine exhibitions with hands-on activities. In addition, we have established the residents' gallery as an accessible space for rental, which is widely used by the public. Through these activities, the Meguro Museum of Art aims to be known as a museum that is always full of freshness and charm to the local community and beyond.
