The Reiji Matsumoto Collection

Communications Museum
Finished
Picture-stories and animations from the period of the Teishin-Sho (the Ministry of Communications; currenly split into Japan Post, NHK, and NTT.) are on display. This exhibition, based on the Matsumoto Reiji manga collection, introduces the history of manga from its beginning to the legendary picture-story "Ohgon Bat (Golden Bat)" by Takeo Nagamatsu. It will attempt to reveal how the communication services of the Teishin-sho were, at the time, trying to influence people into investing in their business by means of biased advertisement animations and picture-stories.
