Koji Tanada Exhibition

This event has ended.

This exhibition's centerpiece is four sculptures of young girls called "girls on the horizon" that represent each of the four cardinal points. Although Koji Tanada is known for his wooden sculptures of people, he has recently shifted to using wood with FRP and stainless steel. His past 'Ichiboku-zukuri series', which means that the wood is carved from one piece, was characterised by strong sadness and doubt. However, the works presented this time express a quiet sense of contentment, with the sculptures watching over us. Tanada believes that the girls and the horizon have one thing in common: beauty.
