This event has ended.

This artist picked up a "SunPrint Kit" at the International Center of Photography museum shop in New York. Since then, she has carefully been creating the unique 10 x 10cm blue and white prints produced when the photographic paper is lain under sunlight.

*"SunPrint Kit" = Sunlight photography kits developed by the U.S. Lawrence Hall of Science. Blue paper from the kit is lain on the subject under UV rays. After exposure, the colored paper is washed with water and dried. The parts that were in the UV light turn out blue, and the parts where the rays were shut out by the subject turn out white as the paper's color changes.

"lapis lazuli ("lapis" means stone in Latin, and "lazuli" means blue in Persian) is a blue-colored compound mineral that has been used decoratively since ancient times. Produced mainly in Afghanistan. Also called "ruri" or lazulite.
