"Efuto = Picture Envelope" Exhibition

Communications Museum
Finished
It all began 50 years ago when David McKee, the author of "Elmer the Patchwork Elephant," and his friends started sending illustrated envelopes for fun. The president of Andersen Press, the company that published McKee's picture books, eventually framed his favorite ones and decorated his office walls with them. His collection now amounts to over 500 illustrated envelopes. Japanese artist and long-time British resident Satoshi Tamura is also a participant in this process. A total of over 1000 efuto, or picture envelopes, will be on display including those submitted by the general public.
