Shinchika
Shinchika is a young artist collective formed in 2002 by students at the Kyoto University of Art. After graduation, they remained active by creating works through file exchanges over the Internet, even though the individual members went their separate ways. Shinchika will present a new video work called "JSCO." Ostensibly a story of a girl who receives an unfinished plastic model from her boyfriend, who is about to move elsewhere, the video itself is also about the clutter of objects that litter our everyday lives, drawing us into a flood of consumer goods in a kind of fantastical vision of urban life. The "Shinchika" name was taken from the underground area beneath the Tennoji temple in Osaka, an area of rowdy, chaotic energy.

All are welcome to be present at the opening party on March 15 (Sat) at 18:00.
