This event has ended.

Azusa Yasuda is an official "otaku" painter who deals with extremely underground, unrealistic subjects like cosplayers, maids, and "boys' love." She frequents Akihabara, the otaku mecca of Tokyo, to participate in cosplay photo sessions, and has her friends wear her own costumes, takes their photos, and recreates these images on her canvases to breathe new life into a two-dimensional domain. Through these varied expressions of otaku culture, which originated in two-dimensional animation, Yasuda captivates viewers by keeping the medium alive and fresh. Approximately 10 oil paintings are on view.
