This event has ended.

This exhibition features new work by photographer Yoichiro Nishimura, who works mostly without the aid of cameras. On display is a series made by putting bird feathers directly onto photographic paper and exposing it to light, creating images out of the shadows that result. Nishimura has used both feathers and insect wings as his preferred materials for over 20 years, but this series in particular focuses more on the gradations of light and shade created by light reflecting off his materials - a sort of homage to the living creatures whose bodies these wings and feathers once adorned.
