This event has ended.

Although Saori Miyake has produced works in diverse media, she has been focusing particularly on photograms in recent years. Photograms are created by directly placing objects over photographic paper and then exposing it to light. By making drawings on several sheets of paper at different times, a final print with subtle gradations, depth and textures is obtained. The pieces are therefore unique because the procedure cannot be repeated in exactly the same way.

Miyake has been interested in the concept that human perceptions and emotions are established by linking various stimuli together. Such a process of linking is similar to finding "constellations" in the stars.
