TAB Talks #17 "Twitter & Art Promotion"
Loftwork Ground
This event has ended.
Our latest TAB Talks explores how art institutions, media, and artists in Japan can use Twitter to reach out to established and new audiences, build communities around their events and grow interest in the arts.
Across the globe, Twitter and other "Social Web" services, that allow people to post short updates on their feelings and whereabouts, are redefining the way people communicate and share experiences online.
Brands, always looking for creative ways to engage with their audience, have joined the platforms and are reaching out to their users in powerful new ways, placing social engagement campaigns at the center of their communication strategies.
With more than 4.5M users in Japan, Japanese is the second most popular language on Twitter and brands like Panasonic, Nike are already running campaign exclusively on Twitter.
Our guests will share their experience using Twitter to promote their events in Japan and the US, giving details on their strategies and tactics and their results, and highlighting the unique challenges of the platform.
You'll learn about the potential of Twitter, the do's and don't rules of engagement, planning and scheduling campaigns, gauging the necessary investment in human and time resources, how to grow a following, sustain it (update rates, RT, replying & engaging in discussion with followers), and convert it to website and event visits, how to help your followers promote your event on your behalf and keep the conversation fresh and interesting everyday of the year.
