Mizuma Art Gallery - Ichigaya Tamachi

poster for Hiroyuki Matsukage "Shadow of Light"

This event has ended.

In this exhibition, Matsukage proposes an art for the near future, after the sun has been extinguished and the wind has stopped blowing. The "shadow" in the title refers not to actual physical shadows, but rather absolute, metaphorical images of dead people or divine spirits, as well as the dark side of human nature and society.

On display at this exhibition is an installation comprising photos, objects and videos that tackle ideas drawn from his own personal adolescent experiences, using motifs and icons such as Yukio Mishima, Momoe Yamaguchi and the young Yoko Ono.
