Since ancient times, deep purple ("murasaki") has been regarded as one of the most noble colors, symbolizing elegance, refinement, mystery and eternity. Yoshihiro Ishikawa, a murasaki dye craftsman from Gunma, has succeeded in cultivating this plant and reconstructing this unique shade of purple after more than 30 years of research. On display at this exhibition are clothes, scarves, accessories and aroma oils made from this plant.
