This event has ended.

Hisoka Maejima is often called the "father of mail" in Japan - although he founded the mail system in 1871, he also made several other significant contributions to the modernization of Japan, including the development of its railway network. This exhibition, which is being held to mark the 140th anniversary of the submission of Maejima's quotation for the construction cost of Japan's fledgling rail system in 1870, features diagrams, books, photos, stamps, models and other archival materials.
