Naomi Avsec "Doodles, Dreams and Stitchery"

Paul Smith Space Gallery
Finished

Artists

Naomi Avsec
London-based Naomi Avsec is known for her use of applique, recycled fabric and sewing in her free-hand stitching works. Her pictures are fanciful, bold, at times surreal, or she uses a second medium of water ink painting in her work, though these two methodologies always share decorative elements of doodle-like touches.

For her first show in Japan Avsec has drawn inspiration from love, nature, dogs, myths, animation, poems, and her much-loved foods (especially Marmite). There will also be embroidered chair sculptures on display.
