“Arctic and Antarctic”

Konica Minolta Plaza

As we are caught in the throes of global warming, extreme climate change and the depletion of the Ozone layer it is through the poles of the Earth, the Arctic and Antarctic that we may most directly observe the affects of these environmental issues. This exhibition aims to provide insight into the urgency of these conditions through a panel exhibition introducing the wildlife of the North and South polar regions, accompanied by the equipment and clothing needed for human survival in these extreme territories. This is accompanied by the breathtaking photographs of Hirshi Ikeda, who having been spellbound by the Antarctic has travelled there on 10 occasions, and a live video feed from the Southern polar region.
