Tsubasa Kato “Still the Never-World”

Mujin-to Production
Finished

Artists

Tsubasa Kato
Kato reconstructs in wood the various homes he and his friends have lived in, from shops to lighthouses and then pulls these upright with the help of many supporters as part of the “Hikiokoshi” project. Here people who do not normally meet each other are brought together through these structures and by lending their strength allow an inanimate object to move. In this exhibition Kato showcases a series of photographs produced in 2012 while visiting to New Orleans and Detroit, along with documentation of a project realized this Summer with indigenous Americans in Nova Scotia.
