“Tokyo 1970 by Japanese Photographers 9”
This event has ended.
The world of art photography is paying increased attention to Japanese post-war photography. The 1970s, a decade that saw Japan’s awe-inspiring development amid a period of rapid economic growth and political and cultural upheaval, also produced many highly original photographers. The works of nine such iconic cameramen taking up Tokyo as their subject are presented in this comprehensive exhibition, which includes works from Daido Moriyama’s “Farewell Photography” series on display for the first time. The collective power of these individual photographers’ representative works retains its luster even after 40 years.
