Presenting the Tokyo edition of the experimental film festival Hors Pistes organized by the Pompidou Centre of Paris. The theme of this year’s program is “discovery.” Films from countries including Japan, France, Brazil, Italy, Nepal, and China expose the truths of the world, exploring themes of modernization, internationalization, and other examples of social transformation seen both in Tokyo and around the globe over the past several decades. These 36 stimulating works from famous directors to young film makers offer new ways of seeing the world. Many of are making their debut in Japan.
