Kazumi Nakamura
Since the 1980’s Kazumi Nakamura(b. 1956)has vigorously pursued questions of the very definition and function of painting, showing a strength of spirit which may be said to surpass many of the contemporary artists of his generation. In his critical approach to painting he reached beyond the trends of American abstract expressionism to hit upon a theoretical form of painting which he has continued to push to new levels. This exhibition highlights the path of his career and the new possibilities of contemporary painting which he has opened the door to.
