Continuous Temporality brings together two artists working with the medium of photography while refusing to be easily labeled as “photographers”. Zai Nomura utilizes malleable materials such as wax, oil and plastic to create intricate sculptures, yet it is only the photographs of the production process which are exhibited as works of art. Takaaki Akaishi on the other hand photographs the creative production and works of artists around him, as well as creating sculptural forms from photos, framing photocopies of his work and printing collages upon cushions, fully exploiting the reality of a photograph as a mere single piece of printed paper. Here the two come together in an exhibition inhabited by both sculpture and photography.
