This event has ended.

Jonathan Monk discovers creativity within the process of imitation, intentionally and selectively adopting this form of creation. He is known for his style of producing art by copying it and taking the production of art itself as the theme of his work. Containing a wealth of ideas, the works of “The Reader” can be described as nothing short of deliberate attempts to deeply examine the state of contemporary art. In his first exhibition at Taro Nasu, Monk presents some 15 works, including his representative steel sculptures, new pieces made of wool, and bronze sculptures. Referencing predecessors such as Andy Warhol and Jeff Koons, Monk’s works expand the consciousness of the viewer.
