In the 1960s and the 1970s, artists “discovered,” and explored the possibility of film and video as mediums through which to reconsider creation and presentation of works. Placing a reconstruction of a groundbreaking show held at that time in Kyoto at its core, this exhibition will reexamine an important phase of postwar Japanese art from the viewpoint of “film and video expression.”
