poster for Satoru Aoyama “A Dedication to the Namless Embroidery Artists”

This event has ended.

Satoru Aoyama makes use of an industrial sewing machine and while questioning the change in humanity and labor value with the process of modernization takes up the medium of embroidery as his site of expression. Here he sews the features of the world map, that universal but ever changing image caught in a cycle of loss and recreation, the issues of which he attempts to bring closer to our touch.
