Yoshinori Toyama + Seiji Kumagai “On Strolls Time, Time For Time”
This event has ended.
Yoshinori Toyama and Seiji Kumagai used expired 8x10 polaroid film that somehow miraculously survived to capture their own visions of time. In the film’s faded colors that beautifully carve out the day-to-day passage of time, Toyama shot familiar scenes from his own home. Kumagai set out during hours of strong sunlight to take snapshots on 35 millimeter film that breezily capture sun-filled streets. There are both contrasts and points of universality to be found in these grainy polaroids resembling scenes from old films.
