This event has ended.
To commemorate last year’s publication of “Rieko Hidaka Works: 1979–2017” by the art book press Nohara, Tomio Koyama Gallery presents an exhibition overlapping with the show “Seeing – Collected Works 1979–2017” at Morioka Shoten. For more than 30 years Rieko Hidaka has been depicting sights viewed when looking up into trees, capturing their branches and the sky above through acts of seeing, feeling, and painting her sense of place under these boundless spaces. Hidaka has held several exhibitions in Japan and overseas, and in 2017 was featured in the well-received show “Sky and Trees” at The Vangi Sculpture Garden Museum coinciding with the publication of “Rieko Hidaka Works: 1979–2017.”
