This event has ended.

Jean-Frédéric Schnyder was born in Basel, Switzerland in 1945. After he took part in the legendary exhibition “When attitudes become form” at Kunsthalle Bern 1969, he started to take painting as his main subject. In 1992, he participated in Documenta 5, then in 1993 represented Switzerland at the Venice Biennale. Despite such a long and successful career as the conceptualist, strangely he remained relatively unknown in Japan. This exhibition will consist of Schnyder’s works from the late 70s to 90s, eleven paintings and one portfolio that reveal his vision of painting as “images in his own versatility” and pictorial languages to survey the history of visual perception.
