Kazuaki Yamane
Artist and Super Open Studio director Kazuaki Yamane considers creating art as a “symbolic device” to be one approach to engaging with society as an artist within it. A series begun in 2016 places objects over materials such as cloth, boards, and glass arranged on the floor. Taking history as its central theme, the series investigates how the objects can be understood within frameworks of single symbolic devices or “territories” within constructed views of history. This exhibition presents works in continuation of this series.
