Edward Gorey
American picture book artist Edward Gorey (1925-2000) is beloved for his ironical and slightly strange world view and delicate monochrome lines. In recent years, his popularity in Japan has grown with translations of his picture books such as ‘The Doubtful Guest’ and ‘The Hapless Child’.
This marks the first time Gorey’s work will be exhibited in Japan. Over 350 original drawings and documents will be on exhibit.
