On April 3, 1899, the Sakuramaru, the first Japanese immigration ship to Peru, arrived with 790 emigrants from Japan. This exhibition marks the 120th anniversary of the occasion with works by 19 young Peruvian artists of Japanese descent working in a variety of visual arts fields. They explore their identities and diverse cultural influences in their works.
