Japanese Swords Collection: The Beginning of the Sano Art Museum

Ferroalloy industrialist Ryuichi Sano (1889–1977) began his art collection with swords from the Tokugawa family. His collection later expanded to including painting and calligraphy, Chinese and Korean ceramics, and Buddhist sculptures. Focusing on the museum’s swords, this exhibition traces the origins of this collection of East Asian art through 60 items.
